Now that eBay has removed sellers’ ability to leave neutral or negative feedback for their buyers starting May 19, 2008, many sellers are feeling vulnerable to unscrupulous buyers.
Not only have sellers been denied the right to free speech (because eBay has censored their ability to leave negative or neutral feedback when appropriate), but eBay has not leveled the playing field.
Without a system in place to hold buyers accountable for their actions, it’s no wonder sellers are feeling vulnerable. There are no “Detailed Buyer Ratings” to hold buyers accountable for late payments insufficient funds, unjustified chargebacks, fraudulent payments, innuendoes or blatent extortion. Buyers are free to post their defamatory remarks even if they haven’t paid a cent.
